The Power of Small Faith
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence; and it shall remove.”
— Matthew 17:20 (NIV)
Jesus teaches that faith doesn't need to be enormous to move mountains—even faith as tiny as a mustard seed is powerful enough. When we trust God, even in small ways, we can accomplish what seems impossible. The "mountain" represents our biggest obstacles and challenges.
Today, you might feel your faith is small or insufficient for the problems you face. But Jesus reminds us that size doesn't matter; what matters is genuinely trusting Him. That one decision to believe, that single step toward obedience—that's enough to begin moving the mountains in your life.
Plant Your Mustard Seed
- 1Identify one mountain—one obstacle or fear—you're facing right now
- 2Take one small action today that demonstrates trust in God's power, not your own strength
- 3Journal or share how that small act of faith opens a door you didn't expect
Lord, help me trust You with the faith of a mustard seed, knowing that my small belief in Your power can move mountains.
What mountain in your life are you waiting to move, and what one small step of faith could you take today?
